On behalf of the HLAA-WA Board of Directors, you’re invited to join us in celebrating our accomplishments and planning how we can do more to help people with hearing loss. We’ll also give out awards, enjoy a light lunch together, and chat with a special guest speaker. You can attend online or in person.

We’re looking forward to a robust conversation with our Legislative Impact Award recipient Rep. Tina Orwall, about current and upcoming legislative priorities for hearing-friendly laws. This is a terrific opportunity to share your thoughts and wish list with our greatest legislative advocate. Whether you’re with us in person or via Zoom, you can ask Rep. Orwall questions and provide input.

If you can join us in person, we’ll welcome you with coffee and tea, and you’ll enjoy a delicious salad buffet lunch in between the annual meeting and the open board meeting. At lunch, you can connect with old and new friends, congratulate our 2023 award winners, and help us plan for the future.

You are also invited to participate in the open board meeting following lunch, either in person or via Zoom. You can help shape HLAA-WA to better serve our state’s hearing loss community. And, if you’re interested in volunteering, this is a great time to find out more.

This event will be fully hearing-accessible, with ASL interpreters and captions both in-person and online, and the room will have a hearing loop.

Here’s a quick schedule. You’re welcome to join for all or part of the day—please just let us know when you RSVP. You’re welcome to bring guests—again, please let us know.

An RSVP for in-person attendance is required. You must register to receive the Zoom link if you’re attending online.

9:30 –  10:00    Arrive. Tea and coffee available.
10:00 – 12:30     Program, including awards.
12:30 –  1:15        Lunch
1:15 –  2:30        Open board meeting. Community input is welcome.
