Flags, families and thousands of veterans will line Main Street to watch the parade, which starts at 11 a.m. and proceeds west on Main from E St SE to A St NW near City Hall over a period of approximately 2½ hours. More than 200 entries and nearly 6,000 parade participants showcasing American strength of will, endurance and purpose. The parade features more than 30 marching bands, local Junior ROTC units, honor guards, military units and antique military vehicles. Spectators are advised to arrive early and bring a folding chair, a flag and their best salute.Other November 10, 2018 events in Auburn include the American Legion Auburn Post #78 breakfast, a Merrill Gardens luncheon, a VFW open house, a “curb competition” to honor veterans, a remembrance ceremony and lighting of the flame at Veterans Memorial Park (411 E St NE, Auburn), and information booths and displays throughout town.For complete event information, parade rules and regulations and on-line parade registration, visit auburnwa. gov/vetsday.
