This Golden Globe-nominated film tells the true story of author and playwright Alan Bennett’s strained friendship with Miss Mary Shepherd, portrayed by actress Maggie Smith, an eccentric homeless woman whom Bennett befriended in the 1970s. The film will be followed by a facilitated discussion with WCSC Social Worker Denise Malm.
