The Seattle Public Library, AARP Foundation Tax Aide Program, and the United Way of King County are working together to offer free tax help at 12 locations throughout Seattle and King County through mid-April. Follow links for specific sites or call your local public library.

Trained volunteers can answer questions and prepare personal tax returns. This service is free and available to individuals. The free service is not available for business tax returns.

Reservations are not required. Drop-in tax help is offered on a first come, first served basis. Please arrive early enough to ensure sufficient time to get the help you require. The last client will be taken 30–45 minutes before the end of drop-in hours.

Bring all tax forms such as W-2s and 1099s, original Social Security cards for everyone listed on the tax return, original government-issued photo ID, and health care coverage information for each person on the return.

Due to federal budget cuts the IRS is unable to provide the Library with certain tax forms and instruction booklets. Most IRS forms are available online at IRS.gov.
